The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander Lineup Gets Bigger and Better Than Ever

Toyota Canada’s 2025 Grand Highlander lineup has upped its game—big time. Six models are on offer this year instead of five. Three different powertrains, fresh configurations, and more exterior paint options? Check. Prices start at $50,860, which isn’t shocking but feels justifiable.

For the Hybrid Limited trim, there’s now an eight-passenger layout. Finally. Before, it was only seven. Across the board, Toyota added sharper looks, new tech features, and upgraded safety systems. Two colors are fresh for the year: Cement and Heavy Metal. Sounds industrial but looks classy.

Three powertrains cover all bases. The basic option is a 2.4-liter turbo gasoline engine. This one churns out 265 horsepower, along with 310 lb-ft of torque, mated to an eight-speed auto. Not bad. Hybrids? They go a bit smaller with a 2.5-liter engine. That one’s coupled to an e-CVT, giving you 243 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque. These hybrids can tow 3,500 pounds, which might surprise some skeptics.

If you're after pure performance, the Hybrid Platinum is where it's at. Toyota’s Hybrid MAX system joins a 2.4-liter turbo with a six-speed auto. You’re looking at 362 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. It even tows up to 5,000 pounds.

No matter the trim, AWD comes standard. Also, three drive modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—are built into every model.

Inside, comfort is clearly a focus. Three rows with adult-friendly third-row seats are a rare find. Fold them down, and cargo space jumps to 2,761 liters. Fully loaded, you still get room for seven carry-ons behind the third row.

Entry-level trims include heated seats, wireless charging, and a leather-wrapped wheel. Premium models toss in extras: cooled seats, panoramic roofs, and high-end JBL sound.

Toyota’s 2025 trims stack up like this:

  • XLE ($50,860)
  • Limited ($57,995)
  • Hybrid XLE ($54,160)
  • Hybrid Limited ($61,495)
  • Hybrid Platinum ($65,755)

All versions come with Toyota Multimedia. You get wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and built-in safety tech, including automatic emergency braking. Higher trims? They go further—think traffic jam assist and panoramic cameras.
