Toyota’s 2025 bZ4X brings some updates, including a fresh mid-range trim. This electric SUV, which also serves as Subaru Solterra’s foundation, is currently limited to sales in British Columbia and Quebec. Last year’s bZ4X had the LE (FWD) and XLE (AWD) trims. Now there’s an LE AWD trim filling the gap between them.
Pricing starts at $46,515 for the base LE FWD, $47,016 for the LE AWD, and $51,845 for the XLE AWD. If you opt for the Technology Package, it tops out at $59,830. Buyers in B.C. and Quebec can snag provincial EV rebates, plus the federal incentive.
The 2025 XLE AWD boasts some cool tech: steering wheel touch sensors, front cross-traffic alerts, and lane-change assist. If you go for the Technology Package, it even includes traffic jam assist, which relies on adaptive cruise control for stop-and-go traffic.
Subaru hasn’t spilled any beans about its 2025 Solterra yet. The current model sticks to AWD, with base, Luxury, or Technology trims.
The bZ4X seats five and has a quirky name that makes me think “busy forest.” The FWD version gets 201 hp, 196 lb-ft of torque, and can go up to 406 km. AWD adds a rear motor, upping it to 214 hp, 248 lb-ft, and a 367 km range.
Standard on LE trims: 12.3-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, radiant leg warmers, dual-zone climate control, and heated steering. The XLE AWD adds features like a sunroof, faux leather, and rear charging ports. Spring for the Technology Package, and you get 20-inch wheels, advanced parking, a digital key, and more.
