2025 GMC Terrain – All We Know So Far

The Terrain has quietly held its place in the company's lineup for the last 7 years, and while it might not grab headlines, it’s been a dependable favorite for many. In fact, despite its relatively understated presence, it’s the most popular SUV in GMC’s stable so far this year. Now, the 2025 model is set to take the stage, and GMC is calling it the next generation of its entry-level SUV.

So, what’s new? At first glance, you might think, “Wait, hasn’t this already been done?” The overall look is similar to the previous model, especially with those signature C-shaped LED running lights up front and the sleek beltline that kicks up at the C-pillar. But if you take a closer look, you’ll spot some fresh updates. The C-pillar itself now has a forward slant, a little nod to its Chevy Equinox sibling. And that front grille? It’s bolder, bigger, and definitely makes more of a statement, sitting above a redesigned front fascia with sharper angles and edges that give it a more aggressive vibe.

Under the hood, the new Terrain sticks with the same turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, pushing out 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. It’s not a game-changer, but it gets the job done. However, the new eight-speed automatic transmission should help smooth things out a bit on the road. And here’s the fun part—GMC is rolling out the 2025 Terrain with all-wheel drive as standard. Later on, they’ll be offering a front-wheel-drive version, but for now, AWD comes with the package.

As for the price tag, well, we’re still waiting on that. But given the tech upgrades and the standard all-wheel drive, it wouldn’t be shocking if the starting price jumps up from the current model’s $30,095. Keep an eye out for those details closer to the Terrain’s on-sale date—this SUV might be stepping up its game in more ways than one.
